ABOUT US

Banish Cancer Charity was founded by Nerijus Kaziela Stage IVA (locally advanced), cT2 n2B m0, G3 cancer survivor who completed an intense two‑month regimen — 35 radiotherapy sessions and 11 chemotherapy cycles — in December 2020, at the height of the COVID‑19 pandemic. Just three weeks later, Nerijus Kaziela contracted COVID‑19, adding another wave of exhaustion and uncertainty to an already painful recovery marked by relentless physical pain, weakness, fear, anxiety, and panic attacks.

With no psychological support available at the time, it became profoundly clear that emotional care is just as vital as medical treatment. Four months into recovery, the organisation’s first initiative began: offering free transport for cancer patients to and from chemo and radiotherapy sessions, easing the burden of treatment travel.

While this commuting service is no longer offered, it laid the foundation for our current mission — building an AI‑powered psychological support companion, available 10 hours daily, and developing self‑guided educational courses for patients, their families, and friends.
