Our Story 📖✨

Banish Cancer is a mission‑driven charity built from lived experience.
Founded in 2021 by Nerijus Kaziela, a Stage IVA (locally advanced), cT2 n2B m0, G3 cancer survivor, the charity was born after 35 radiotherapy sessions and 11 chemotherapy cycles during the COVID‑19 pandemic.

The hardest battles came at night — when the pain, the fear, and the unknown pressed to the limits, when the house was silent, and there was no one to call. This absence of emotional care revealed a truth too often overlooked: healing is not only physical — it’s deeply emotional. Out of that darkness, Banish Cancer was created to ensure no one else faces those nights alone.

Today, the charity delivers prevention strategies, survivor stories, and clear explainers that help people make informed decisions with confidence.

From Recovery to Action 💪➡️🚀

Four months into recovery, the charity’s first initiative began: free transport for cancer patients to and from chemo and radiotherapy sessions, easing the burden of treatment travel. This was soon followed by healthy food supply drops and partial bill covering — practical support designed to reduce stress and restore dignity during treatment.

While these services are no longer offered, they laid the foundation for today’s mission: deploying AI Night Support — a presence that listens and stands with you when fear presses hardest. Alongside it, we’re developing self-guided educational courses for patients, families, and friends — tools to navigate treatment and recovery with clarity and strength.

Because when the darkest hours hit and silence grows loud, there will still be someone to listen, to comfort, and to keep the conversation alive.
